Berkeley City College is committed to a systematic and evidence-based process of self-study, evaluation, and improvement of instructional, student services, academic support services, and administrative services/programs.

Comprehensive Program Review (CPR) occurs every three years and Annual Program Update (APU) occurs annually which requires the College to assess its performance based on the Strategic Goals set within the Educational Master Plan that are also in alignment with the District’s Strategic Plan.

Comprehensive Program Review and Annual Program Update process provides opportunities to examine and identify areas of program improvements to achieve student success and elimination of achievement gaps for the disproportionately impacted student groups.  Through the Resource Allocation process led by the Integrated Planning for Allocation Resources (IPAR) Committee, the College makes decisions regarding where the resources need to be provided in order to achieve its institutional goals. test

Deans/Supervisors work with each Department, program, and service leads during this time to complete the APU.

Deans/Supervisors review, provide feedback to writers, and validate completion of CPR.

 

12/6/24

Department Chairs and Academic Senate complete the faculty prioritization process for 2025-26 AY.

IPAR provides comprehensive plan for the timeline and process

12/6/24 to 12/13/24

Researcher will compile and summarize APU resource requests for the Deans and Managers

 

12/13/24 – 1/6/25

Resource requests from APU go to Deans/Supervisors for their prioritization

 

1/6/25-1/15/25

Deans/Supervisors/other administrators send their prioritized recommendations to VPs submit them to IPAR

 

2/11/25

IPAR receives all APUs and summary of resource requests for resource allocation

VPs & President present prioritized resources for Fund 01, non-restricted funds, at IPAR for endorsement

IPAR

2/24/25

IPAR makes recommendation for the Fund 01 to Roundtable

Roundtable receives prioritized resources from IPAR and if endorsed, makes recommendation to President.

 

2/25/2024

Budget Development for 2025-2026 led by the Vice President of Administrative Services in accordance with the decisions made through the resource allocation process.
