The Multimedia Arts programs taps into some of the world's most highly acclaimed multimedia production studios and software companies focusing on four major areas: Digital Imaging, Animation and Game Design, Mobile and Web Design, and Video Arts.

Overview

At Berkeley City College, students learn the fine points of skills and craft needed to succeed in the entertainment industry for animation, design, game (including VR), mobile and web, and video arts production. Industry standard tools are taught as part of the curriculum including Maya, Adobe Suite,  Cinema 4D, Painter, Pro Tools, Harmony, and ZBrush.

Artist, animators, designers, producers, and executives from Maxon, inc., Mulkey Vision, Pixar Studios, Springer Design, True West Studios, Talman Associates, Charles Schwab, 3D Gear, Tippett Studios, Wolf Hill Studios, and San Francisco AMC Siggraph, serve on the programs advisory board.

Berkeley City College’s program is dynamic, industry-centered and economical (only $46.00 per semester unit, plus other campus fees). It is one of the best programs in the Bay Area. Multimedia jobs are increasing everyday and Berkeley City College is preparing students artistically and technically for these careers.

Multimedia Arts Core

The Multimedia Arts Department offers a Core Certificate of Achievement giving students a foundation of multimedia techniques and theory that will prepare you for further coursework and specialization in the discipline of choice. We highly recommend students explore this certificate and get a head start on their chosen degree!
