Learning Resources Center
The LRC will respond to inquiries during normal operating hours.
Starting Spring 2024, students receiving tutoring services at the LRC and Writing Center are required to enroll in a FREE non-credit 501 Course. Outside coursework and textbooks will NOT be required. This is for our internal tracking purposes, and you only need to enroll once per semester.
This is an open-enrollment course, so you can enroll at any time! Save time before your first appointment and Enroll in the course(s) below that correspond to the subject(s) you expect to be tutored in this Spring. LRC Front Desk Staff are available to assist.
Math 501: #44504
Any Math course

Any English course OR support with written assignments from a Writing Coach
LRNRE (Learning Resources) 501: Code #44505
All other subjects EXCEPT Canvas tutoring. Example: CIS, Sociology, Spanish, Business/Econ etc.

Fill out our Appointment Request Form to schedule a tutoring session.

The Front Desk will email you to determine the best times that work for you.

Please make sure to confirm the appointment time via a response email to the front desk.

Afterward, you will receive a confirmation email with the Online LRC Zoom link.
The Online LRC

At the Online LRC, you will enter our Waiting Room.

Once admitted to the Front Desk, you will be signed in and invited to join your tutor’s breakout room.
After your Appointment

If you’d like to make another appointment, there are two ways to do so:

Head back to the Front Desk to coordinate a time with our staff;

LRC Policies
→ Appointment Length
Students can book appointments for 30 or 60 minutes. Students that are receiving SAS services (DSPS and PSSD) can book up to 2 hours at a time. Once students have reached the maximum time limit, they can only book another appointment after they’ve attended their current appointment.
→ Canceling and Rescheduling Appointments
If you aren’t able to make it to your appointment, email or call us at 510-981-2971 during normal operating hours. to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This gives other students opportunities to work with the tutor at that time. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, email bcc-lrc@peralta.edu.
No show policy:
After the a third no show, students will begin to go 1 week without tutoring. No Shows are cumulative. Cancellations after 24 hours count as 1 no show. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, email bcc-lrc@peralta.edu.
