Berkeley City College’s Business Program allows students to develop problem-solving skills that help them compete for jobs in today’s business world. The degrees & certificates are applicable to work in small or large organizations and in the public or private sectors.
About
The Business Department offers transfer programs and non-transfer occupational programs leading to an Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T) degree, an Associate in Arts (AA) degree, and Certificates of Achievement (CA) and/or Proficiency (CP) in several business areas.
To transfer to a four-year college in business and fulfill an associate degree prior to transfer, complete a degree in Business Administration, International Business, or General Business.
Certificate Programs assist students in numerous ways. They provide skills needed for immediate employment; they prepare students for advancement to positions that require more in-depth knowledge of organization and business principles; they develop and upgrade skills in related business and office technology areas; and/or they provide entry-level job skills.

Pete DuBois pdubois@peralta.edu
Mr. DuBois is a full-time faculty member in the Business Department at Berkeley City College; teaching Introduction to Business, Personal Finance, Small Business Management, Introduction to Marketing, Principles of Management, Business Communications and Business Ethics and Leadership.
Prior to BCC, Mr. DuBois had an extensive career in senior corporate management positions and global management consulting. Most recently, Mr. DuBois served as Managing Director, Healthcare Technologies at The Advisory Board Company. In this role, he led the consulting and technology implementation organizations serving 3500 hospital and healthcare clients. He came to the Advisory Board via its acquisition of a mobile healthcare technology start-up venture that Mr. DuBois was instrumental in building from 2007 to 2012.
Mr. DuBois previously held senior management roles with Arthur D. Little, Inc., a global management consultancy, as director of the operations and technology management practice, working in the U.S., Europe, and Latin America.

Chris Bernard is a professor of Economics at Berkeley City College in Berkeley, California. Prior to this role, he was an attorney at a Philadelphia area-based law firm where he represented businesses in all phases of state and federal litigation.
At BCC, Chris teaches economics principles and business law courses. He also devotes non-instructional time on distance education projects that promote excellence in online teaching and learning.
Chris graduated with a B.A. in Economics and English from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He then received an M.A. in Economics from San Francisco State University before earning a J.D. from Widener University School of Law, where he was internal managing editor of the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law.
Off campus, Chris enjoys wandering outside and skiing with his family, watching his three sons, and professionals, play basketball and soccer, and listening to music.
