Legislative Council (Senate)

About & Agendas, Minutes, and Related Documents

The Legislative Branch of the Associated Students of Berkeley City College (ASBCC) is composed of nine (9) officials elected every spring semester. As stated in the By-Laws of the ASBCC, each senator shall be assigned and appointed by the council president to a specific senatorial duty: Information and Organization Systems, Community Building, Campus Sustainability, Student Transfers, Academic Services, Primary Services, External Affairs, and two (2) Special Populations Senators. At the same time, they are required to attend two (2) BCC Shared Governance Committee Meetings, and to engage in or to start new projects.

Our goal is to increase student voice through effective representation, and creation of events and collaboration with clubs and the community that will enhance everyone’s community college experience.

Judicial Council

About

Hello! We are the judicial council! We are the ones in charge of making sure that the Associated Students of Berkeley City College and Inter Club Council follows the necessary protocols for meetings and operations.

We also obsess over documents, many in our council are involved with the Documents committee,  where we try to make our vision of establishing institutional memory a reality by making the process of bureaucracy much more streamlined whether it’s through simplification of codes, or establishing cheat sheets and sending out updates.
